

About The Role
We are seeking a Drafter to join our growing team. This role is responsible for the preparation of structural designs and drawings using AutoCAD, ensuring that design drawings conform to specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with building information models (BIM) for steel building projects, a solid understanding of construction processes, and knowledge of applicable building codes..
Key Accountabilities
Develop and prepare fabrication drawings and designs from preliminary concepts, sketches, and specifications
Create 3D building models for use by various departments and teams
Utilize BIM to analyze potential design solutions and improve project efficiency
Efficiently operate computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) workstations
Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets based on current project and team needs
Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data
Ensure clients' needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building codes and regulations
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other internal teams to optimize designs for manufacturing and construction.
What You’ll Bring Along
Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and BIM modeling.
Industry Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing and construction processes, including self-framing and polyurethane building systems.
Attention to Detail: Strong ability to check and verify specifications in drawings and documentation.
Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze design challenges and implement solutions efficiently.
Software Proficiency: Adept in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, VeriClock, and SiteDocs HSE Management System.
Education & Experience:
o Minimum 1-2 years of experience in drafting and design.
o Minimum 1 year of experience in building information modelling (BIM).
o Minimum 1 year of experience with AutoCAD.
o Post-secondary diploma in drafting architecture design or equivalent.
