we love what we do...

and it shows!

Here at Metalex Metal Buildings Inc., we engineer metal buildings, including self-framing, polyurethane panel, and rigid-frame buildings for almost any application you can imagine. But what does that even mean? We’ll be honest, most of us grew up playing with Lego blocks, and let us tell you, there are a lot of ways to put a building together using a bunch of individual pieces. We basically perfected this process as adults, and it’s still just as fun—maybe even more so!

Our buildings meet the highest standards of quality control and can be customized to the needs of your project. Contact us today, and let’s start building together!

Metalex buildings are used for all sorts of applications. Here are just some of the homes our buildings tend to find themselves in:

  • Housing process and electrical equipment in the Oil, Gas & Mining Industry

  • Commercial applications (e.g., warehouses and storage sheds)

  • Agricultural applications (e.g., barns, animal shelters, garages, storage and workshops)

We’re all about customization and new frontiers—the only limit is imagination! If you have a great idea for how our self-framed metal buildings can serve your needs, reach out and let’s make it happen.

Metalex has been a leading manufacturer of self-framing metal buildings since we started in 2002 and this building system is our specialty! Self-framing metal buildings are a form of pre-engineered building. You would usually use this for buildings up to 30 feet wide, 20 feet tall and any length required.

A self-framing metal building is what it says on the tin (though our engineers say it’s a little more complicated): a metal building that frames itself, meaning it can be delivered to you in pieces that can be easily put together and dismantled again whenever you need to move it.

When the size limitations of Self-Framed or Polyurethane Metal Building are a challenge, Metalex offers a Rigid-Frame Metal Building option designed to meet any height and span requirement, provided engineering feasibility is maintained. Some features of these buildings include large framed openings, doors or overhead cranes.

Metalex can provide a multitude of building structures, insulation and cladding solutions to complete the structure to client specifications. In fact, we may even incorporate a self-framing or polyurethane system as a building envelope to the rigid frame to complete the job.

Metalex manufactures polyurethane insulated sandwich panels in two designs: lap edge or flush edge, in 1-1/2”, 3”  thickness. This rigid foam product is structurally self-supporting on smaller building projects and/or can be attached to larger framed buildings quickly as a single system of exterior/interior cladding and insulation—all in one easy step! This system is best suited to meet the requirements of the National Energy Building Code 2015.

The polyurethane sandwich panel consists of metal skins with polyurethane-injected core. The insulating quality of rigid polyurethane foam is high, which enables builders to make walls thinner—but just as quiet, warm and sturdy. In addition to buildings, this product is extremely versatile and can be used for utilidor, trailer packages, and tank cladding.

Metalex supplies innovative and economical insulating solutions for all your tank/vessel or piping requirements. This division has the experience and expertise to complete any project to your specifications, and can assist you in designing a customized solution for your insulating requirements.

about us

Since our early days, we’ve grown exponentially—it turns out, a lot of other people shared our passion for self-framing buildings, and we’ve been having fun ever since. Expansion brought tools, equipment and expertise to design and fabricate over 15,000 buildings. In 2014, we constructed a polyurethane panel manufacturing facility on our Stettler site and ever since we’ve been producing some of the highest quality, affordable polyurethane panels the industry offers. We love what we do—and it shows!

Some of the things we do best:

  • Complete design, fabrication, and erection of self-framing or polyurethane panel buildings.

  • Supply and construction of pre-engineered building systems.

  • Industrial insulation, cladding and pipe/tank/vessel wrapping.

  • Meeting safety requirements and quality control.

Metalex trains its team to provide the best building solutions to meet client requirements—and we love our clients as much as we love building things, so taking care of our clients is top priority.

Metalex is dedicated to quality and has successfully maintained CSA A660 certification since 2011. We care a lot about the details here, and we’re happy to take care of those details for our clients. We can assist you in selecting the right building design, the most-effective engineering, and the proper fabrication/erection specifications to suit your specific needs. Whether it’s price, quality, durability, energy-efficiency or any other aspect that is most important to you…

Family owned and operated, Metalex is dedicated to our staff and clients. The KEY to our success is our people. We have an unparalleled, highly experienced staff that we couldn’t be prouder to consider our Metalex family.
